Hidden Treasures of Tbilisi
About this experience
The epochs of Tbilisi are not only seen in its landmarks, but also unfold in places usually overlooked by travelers. I will introduce you to the symbols that are essential to the Georgian capital, while dedicating a significant amount of time to atmospheric and less touristy corners. Near ancient palaces, old temples, and quaint charming buildings, you will hear mystical legends and gain a fuller picture of the city's unique architecture. From hidden vantage points, you will discover beautiful new perspectives.
What to Expect
Vibrant architecture of Tbilisi buildings
First off, I will show you the most colorful buildings. You will see the unique clock tower at the Rezo Gabriadze Puppet Theater, where a charming puppet show takes place twice a day (at 12:00 and 19:00). In the famous carved porch, you will learn about life in authentic Tiflis houses and capture atmospheric photos against the backdrop of the carved veranda and colorful stained glass. To give you a comprehensive impression of Tbilisi's unique architecture, we will visit the palace with an elegant circular balcony—Daredjan, where I will narrate a romantic legend about a Georgian king.
Tbilisi's bridges as symbols of different epochs
On the extravagant Bridge of Peace, perfectly harmonizing with the Old Town, you will learn about the hidden message encrypted in its illumination. The oldest crossing—Metekhi Bridge—will serve as a reminder of the tragic pages in Tbilisi's history. Additionally, in the nearby young Rike Park, I will explain the origins of its extraordinary structures and show you the amphitheater, where folklore musicians, poets, and dancers enjoy performing.
Ancient city temple and historical monuments
Of course, the tour will also include iconic edifices crucial to understanding the capital's past and the moral values of the Georgian people. Admiring the grand "Mother of Kartli" monument, you will discover the role of women in the country's history. Near Anchiskhati—the oldest surviving church in Tbilisi (and the second in all of Georgia)—we will discuss religious traditions. Through the outline of the majestic Narikala Fortress, the city's contemporary, I will help you understand the sequence of events that have taken place here over the past 1500 years. And you will definitely descend to the hidden gem—the waterfall in the Ingor Valley, and hear the legends about the origin of Tiflis in the neighborhood of the famous sulfur baths.
🥘 Finally, when your appetite is worked up, I will recommend tried and tested cafes and restaurants with delicious national dishes and stunning views of the surroundings.

I recommend this tour, it truly is ‘no water’ and unnecessary information with interesting facts, through the most iconic places of the old city that you may miss by just passing by. My wife and I wer...
