Discover Tbilisi as it is
About this experience
Descriptions of Tbilisi are not complete without the word 'colorful' – on my tour, you will understand where this uniqueness and vibrancy come from. You will uncover the coexistence of the East and the West, history and modernity. The route will cover not only the main landmarks from the Sulfur Baths to the Narikala Fortress, but also Rustaveli Avenue and the Sololaki district with its elusive beauty.
What to Expect
A City at the Crossroads of Cultures
To comprehend the 'Tbilisi phenomenon,' you will see the city as a patchwork quilt woven from multiple cultural centers. Learn about the peoples who settled in the capital, shaping its character and identity, about the peaceful coexistence of different religions. Speaking of the latter, we will visit the synagogue, Armenian church, and the only mosque where Sunnis and Shiites pray together.
A Stroll through Key Locations and a Journey through the Ages
Archaeologists have determined that these places were inhabited 5-6 thousand years ago, and already in the 3rd-2nd centuries BCE, Tbilisi had trade links with Parthia, the Bosporus, and Rome. I will share stories about those times, outstanding Georgian rulers, the wealthy Tiflis of the 19th century, and our present days with ultra-modern constructions like the symbolic Bridge of Peace. The backdrop for the tales will include several iconic parts of the city:
- Rustaveli Avenue and Sololaki District: from Freedom Square, you will walk along the main artery of the city past shady plane trees and elegant buildings, while I describe the most interesting ones. Next, we will meander through the streets of Sololaki – a district that was considered elite in 19th-century Tbilisi. You will see remnants of past luxury – the houses of Mantashev, Seilane, and other rich people of that time, hear about the fates of Sololaki, peek into beautiful ceremonial and contrasting inner courtyards.
- Sulfur Baths District, where you will admire Tbilisi from a postcard perspective – with lace balconies and cobbled alleys, and I will unveil the legend of the city's foundation. Nearby awaits you the Sioni Cathedral, where the cross of St. Nino is kept, and the vibrant Leselidze Street. And, of course, you will enjoy our hilly city from above – for this, we will 'ascend' on the cable car to the Narikala Fortress.
By the end of the 2.5-hour tour, you will see Tbilisi as the natives do, and its history, architecture, and residents' way of life will come together to form a clear and vibrant picture for you.

Great tour for a first introduction to the city. It is very pleasant to walk around the city with a guide who loves their city and knows its history perfectly, ready to answer questions and tell almost everything about each building on the route.
