Tbilisi with a Twist
About this experience
During a 3.5-hour immersive tour, you will visit all the main sights of Tbilisi while I narrate about the past and present of this warm city, local lifestyle, and culture. From the ancient Sioni Cathedral and the Tamada statue to the Narikala Fortress and the Sulfur Baths, passing through 'Italian' courtyards and the glass Bridge of Peace, this walk will ignite your interest in the Georgian capital, orient you in the city, and help you feel the infinite soulfulness of Tbilisi.
What to Expect
A Soulful Stroll through the Heart of Tbilisi
My main goal is to show you Tbilisi as the locals know and love it. We will peek into traditional 'Italian' courtyards, observe their colorful life, talk about Georgian traditions and fun urban stories. You will enjoy the aroma and taste the warm bread in a secret 15th-century bakery, see curious Georgian grandmothers on lace balconies, and of course, taste the city and country's symbolic flavors: the program includes a tasting of Churchkhela from Kakheti and a wine 'therapy' in a cellar.
An Engaging Encounter with Landmarks
The route will cover all the must-see places of ancient Tiflis and modern Tbilisi. I will explain the uniqueness of the Old City Hall at Freedom Square, tell about the country's patron saint and the historical coexistence of religions in Tbilisi – you will see the Catholic Cathedral of St. Mary, old synagogues, the Jumah Mosque, and the Armenian Norashen Church. You will also admire the architecture of Sioni Cathedral, where the Holy Cross of St. Nino is kept.
We will walk on the modern Bridge of Peace – I will tell you about its symbolism – and in Rike Park, shaped like the map of Georgia, we will take the cable car and fly to Narikala Fortress in a couple of minutes. You will enjoy one of the best panoramas of Tbilisi and 'meet' Mother Georgia, and descending down, you will find a real waterfall in the city center and touch the origins of Tiflis in the Sulfur Baths district.
Organizational Details
All treats are included in the price. Tickets for the cable car and the botanical garden are paid extra (1€).
How the Tour Goes
