Tbilisi, you are one of a kind!
About this experience
I am a chef until lunchtime, I navigate the world of Georgian cuisine, and after lunch, I am a guide who has been exploring every corner of Tbilisi since childhood and now shows them to guests. Our walk will be informal. Let's leave the chains of dates and names to the historians, and we will dive into the atmosphere of Tiflis streets, stroll through ancient places, visit my friends in their workshop, and definitely have some wine.
What to expect
- We will visit the main entrance gates of Old Tbilisi in the city center, the ancient settlement of the 8th century discovered as a result of archaeological excavations, as well as the monuments of Fanarshiku, Berikaoba, and Dvornik.
- I will tell you about our famous artist Niko Pirosmani and the story of his love with Margarita de Sevr - let's remember those 'million scarlet roses'.
- We will visit the 6th-century Anchiskhati Church - the oldest of the surviving churches in Tbilisi.
- I will also show you the Palace of the royal family, now a hotel, and the Gabriadze Puppet Theater - one of the oldest cultural institutions in Georgia.
- We will visit the Museum of Georgian Weapons.
- We will walk along Sharden Street, near the monument of Tamada, to talk about Georgian drinking traditions.
- We will talk about Georgian bread, lavash, and 'shoti' bread. I will tell you where and how it was baked and is still being baked.
- Special attention will be paid to the colorful balconies and courtyards of the city: they are an integral part of the historical heritage and charm of Tbilisi.
- And what about the Sulfur Baths, which Pushkin and Dumas loved to visit? We can't do without them! I will tell you why they are considered such an important landmark and share modern bathhouse traditions.
- We will find the waterfall in the middle of the city - in the Fig Gorge.
- We will take secret paths to a place with a beautiful view of Tbilisi.
- You will taste the best Georgian wines in a beautiful setting.
- I will take you to the workshop of my friends, where you will get acquainted with the art of Georgian enamel (minankari).
Organizational details
- The cost of the tour includes wine tasting, entrance to the weapons museum, and a visit to the enamel workshop.
- Bring a camera or a charged phone to take beautiful photos as a keepsake.

A leisurely walk is suitable even for people of age, I would easily entrust my parents to Anna to get acquainted with the city. Once again, I note on the tour in Georgia how the locals love their home, know how to...
