During a full-day tour in Adjara, you will get a comprehensive overview of its capital - the city of Batumi. Immerse yourself in the times of Antiquity and the Middle Ages, exploring the 1st-century fortress and stone arch bridges. Learn about the lifestyle and traditions of the people living in the Machakhela Gorge. Visit beautiful waterfalls. And if desired, taste wines in nature and have lunch in a village, hosted by locals.
What to expect
Express introduction to Batumi
Before leaving the city, I will briefly introduce you to the capital of Adjara and show its main attractions. We will pass by the Batumi Seaport, the Italian-style square, the Church of St. Nicholas, the Drama Theater, Freedom and Europe Squares. You will see statues of Medea, the Colchian princess from Greek mythology, Neptune, the composition "Ali and Nino". Also on our route are the Church of St. Barbara, parks, historical houses, and dancing fountains.
Around Batumi
We will drive along the southern coast of Adjara and head to the village of Sarpi, where we will approach the Georgian-Turkish border. You will see a waterfall and a monument erected in honor of the enlightener of the Georgian people - St. Andrew the First-Called. In the village of Gonio, I will acquaint you with the history of the 1st-century Gonio-Apsaros fortress. And then we will ascend to the mountainous part of Adjara. On our way, there will be ancient stone arch bridges, the ancient fortress of Gvara, the monument to Machakhela, and waterfalls in the gorge.
Wine tasting and lunch (optional)
If desired, you can taste Georgian wines and chacha: at the waterfall in Sarpi - legendary wines like "Khvanchkara", "Kindzmarauli", "Rkatsiteli", "Saperavi"; at the Kariman waterfall - local wines "Tsolikouri", "Chkhaveri", "Aladasturi". In the village of Nagerveti, at a local's house, it is possible to organize a feast with tasting of local dishes and wines with a folklore performance.

- The tour is conducted in a comfortable Mitsubishi Pajero IO car
- Meals, drinks, and entrance tickets are not included in the tour price: entrance ticket to the Gonio-Apsaros fortress - 8 lari per person, lunch with folklore - 50 lari per person
- If you have already seen the main attractions of Batumi, we can exclude the introductory overview part from the route and head directly towards the Machakhela Gorge
