About this experience
I am pleased to invite you to the places in the mountainous Adjara where there are still no crowds of tourists. We will admire the city on the Black Sea coast from the height of the Jvari viewing platform, drive through the river valleys, discover the ruins of the Gvara fortress, and talk about the wonderful Georgia along the way. Next, you will visit the village of Kapnistavi: a small museum of everyday life, trekking to waterfalls, and a private wine cellar await you.
What to Expect
Ancient fortresses and breathtaking panoramas
Our first stop - the Jvari viewing platform - will offer you views of the entire Batumi from above, the Black Sea coast, the river delta, and even Turkey. From here, we will also look at the Gonio Fortress, the oldest in Georgia. Then, we will drive through the Chorok river valley to the mountainous Adjara. Here, we will visit some of the most beautiful places in the region.
Kapnistavi: An authentic village and waterfalls
The first place of the journey will be the magical corner of Adjara, Kapnistavi. In this quiet cozy village, where mountain springs murmur everywhere, you will visit an open-air private museum. Local enthusiasts have collected here antique items of village life. Together, we will take a short trek to the lower waterfalls of Kapnistavi (1.5 km round trip), on the way, we will see centuries-old mills. Then by car, we will reach the river basin - in the summer, you can swim if you wish. Then we will descend lower and visit the village of Mirveti with a waterfall and a small arched bridge.
At the end, we will climb to the Gvara fortress and walk to its ruins, see ancient qvevri, wine vessels. Throughout the tour, I will tell you about this land, about significant events - without dates and deep dives into historical intricacies.
As the final of the journey, a Georgian lunch awaits us on request.

The tour was fine, but there were a lot of places we were taken to solely by their own arrangement. I didn't like the wine they served at all when we opened it at home.
