About this experience
Mountainous Adjara is one of the most picturesque places in Georgia. I invite you to explore it comfortably: in an individual format, in a modern car. You will see the region's landmarks: rivers, waterfalls, and Queen Tamar's bridge. As well as the ruins of an ancient fortress, Greek amphorae, Ottoman coins, and other remnants from different eras. The culmination of the journey will be a fun feast as guests of a winemaker!
What to expect
Past and present
From Batumi, we will head towards the Turkish border. Along the way, you will see the waterfalls of the apostles Andrew the First-Called and Simon the Canaanite. I will tell you when and under what circumstances Christianity began to be preached in Georgia. Then we will stop at the ancient Gonio-Apsaros fortress, where you will see artifacts from various eras found during excavations. Among them: Roman, Polish, Byzantine, and Ottoman coins, Greek amphorae, Colchian bronze weapons, and remnants of an aqueduct.
Idyllic panoramas, wine, and Adjarian cuisine
I will show you the remarkably beautiful place where two rivers merge: Adjaristskali and Chorokhi. As well as the Mahuntseti waterfall and the medieval Queen Tamar's arch bridge. In conclusion, we will visit a real Georgian winemaker. You will be able to taste dishes of Adjarian cuisine made from natural products and traditional Georgian alcoholic beverages: chacha, homemade brandy, and several types of wine.
