About this experience
In the first part of the tour, you will pass by the main sights of Batumi, learn about its past and present. Then you will head to the evergreen cliffs, waterfalls, and bridges from the time of Queen Tamar - into the enchanting mountains of Adjara. The delight of the landscapes will be complemented by my stories about the traditions of the region, as well as a visit to a mountain village and wine tasting.
What to expect
Iconic spots on the Batumi map
As you breeze through Batumi, you will learn about its history and development, the intertwining of cultures and modern life. You will drive through the main Rustaveli Avenue, where you will appreciate the city's contrasts, past the Drama Theater and Neptune Fountain, dolphinarium, and Ardaghani Lake with dancing fountains, past new original buildings: from the Justice House resembling a bottle to the flipped restaurant.
Adjara - a harmony of natural and man-made
Traveling to mountainous Adjara is a constant delight of views! You will admire relic forests, mountain gorges, and turbulent rivers, as well as the confluence of two rivers, Chorokhi and Adjaristskhali, breathe in the fresh air. Amidst the beauty of nature before you will appear the arched bridge from the time of Queen Tamar - Maho and Mahuntseti. I will explain how this and other similar bridges in Adjara have not been destroyed for centuries, and I will tell you about the reign of the great woman, about the "Golden Age" of Georgian history. Nearby, you will also visit the picturesque 48-meter Mahuntseti waterfall.
Continuing the tour, we will pass through another suspension bridge and reach the mountain village of Mirveti, where you will see the authentic way of life of the locals. Here, we will walk through the boxwood grove to the "waterfall of love" - Mirveti.
In addition, you will visit the Machakhela National Park with amazing nature: enjoy the tiered Chhutuneti waterfall, walk through the Machakhela Gorge, and look at it from the height of the viewing platform.
