Two-faced Tbilisi
About this experience
If you ask any Georgian where they are from, they will name the region of the country down to the village. If you ask a resident of Tbilisi the same question, they will simply say the city, because there is no other place on earth like Tbilisi. The city exudes a special atmosphere and unique rhythm. Like the two-faced Janus, for Easterners it feels western, and for Europeans it feels eastern. I invite you to see this for yourself by immersing in its life during a walking and car tour.
What to Expect
Exploring the Eastern Heart of Tbilisi on Foot
You will explore the entire historic part of the city - the most authentic area where everything feels familiar, yet each block is filled with ancient treasures and architectural landmarks. You will visit the famous Gabriadze Theater, see the oldest building in Tbilisi - the 6th-century Anchiskhati Church, and the magnificent Legvtakhevi Gorge, through which a river flows at the city center! You will take the cable car up to the Narikala Fortress, visit the legendary Abanotubani baths, and many other interesting places you are unlikely to stumble upon on your own.
Driving through the 'European' part of the city
By car, we will drive along Tbilisi's main avenue starting from Freedom Square - Rustaveli Avenue. It is unlike the cozy streets of the old town, resembling more a wide boulevard in any European capital. You will see numerous cultural and architectural landmarks in this part of Tbilisi, visit the Holy Trinity Cathedral and stop by the Metekhi Church in Avlabari. You will also visit the Pantheon to see Alexander Griboyedov's grave on the way to the top of Mtatsminda Mountain, where you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the city.
Organizational Details

Leila told the history of the city and its modernity in a very interesting way. I liked the way t...

It was nice that we traveled to distant places of the tour by car. We were picked up for the tour right from the hotel, and at the end of the excursion,...
