Tbilisi - a celebration that stays with you
About this experience
A stroll through Tbilisi is an opportunity to feast your eyes on the beauty of ancient streets and modern avenues, while imagination is filled with stories of love and hate, betrayal and friendship, envy and nobility. I love this city and I am eager to show you a hospitable, wise, vibrant, and soulful Tbilisi. Just as the locals know it.
What to expect
Walk through the old city
You can feel the spirit of antiquity in the old part of the city with the famous sulfur baths, Narikala and Metekhi fortresses, 5th and 6th-century temples, caravanserais, narrow paved streets, and houses with carved balconies that have become the hallmark of Tbilisi. Welcome to the Abanotubani district!
New times - new streets
In the part of the city that started to be built up in the 19th century, you will get acquainted with Tbilisi's neoclassical, baroque, and modern architecture. There are many unique houses where great Russian writers and poets stayed and read their works. The walk continues in the Sololaki district.
In the silence of museum halls
While strolling around the city, travelers often overlook museums - and in vain! Tbilisi has three wonderful state national museums with unique exhibits that form the national treasury of the country. The permanent exhibitions of the museums feature works by N. Pirosmani, L. Gudiashvili, D. Kakabadze. Also of interest are the State Silk Museum and the State Ethnographic Open-Air Museum. You can get acquainted with paintings in private museums: the house-museum of L. Gudiashvili and the museum of modern art by Z. Tsereteli.
Tbilisi - a celebration that stays with you
You will see that Tbilisi is a city of perpetual celebration. On special days, numerous folk festivals take place here, exhibitions of folk crafts are held, wine and cheese tastings, folk festivities, and colorful performances. All this together represents a unique blend of the entire Georgian color within one city. And for those planning their visit in the autumn period, it is worth noting that on the last weekends of October, Tbilisi celebrates the city day - an incomparable celebration.
