Parallel to the central city street of Jaffa are quiet neighborhoods rarely visited by tourists. They remain hidden because people are unaware of the rich history these places hold. Let me introduce you to it.
Program
We will see:
- Luxurious gardens surrounding grand mansions;
- The hotel where the founder of modern Zionism, Theodor Herzl, stayed;
- An Anglican school and hospital;
- The house of the famous poet Rachel and the first female doctor in the Middle East, Elena Kagan;
- The homes of British artist William Hunt and father of modern Hebrew, Eliezer Ben-Yehuda;
- The Ethiopian church;
- The Doctor Ticho House Museum and Art Museum of his wife, Anna;
- The Russian Compound;
- The residence of Chief Rabbi Abraham Kook;
- Immersion into Jerusalem's life in the 19th century;
- The Italian hospital designed by the renowned architect Antonio Barluzzi and the hotel for Ethiopian pilgrims;
- And optionally visit the museum-prison of underground fighters from 1920-1947.
