What to Expect
Walking tour of the Old City
Our exploration of Jerusalem will begin at the Jaffa Gate. From there, we will head to a panoramic viewpoint located on the roof of the medieval market. You will visit the Muslim, Jewish, and Christian quarters. You will see the Al-Aqsa Mosque, one of the holiest sites in Islam alongside Mecca and Medina, and the Jewish yeshiva. Explore the Roman Cardo and the Hurva Synagogue. Of course, the route will include the Western Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, which you will explore from the inside.
To immerse you in the authentic daily life of the locals, I will take you through residential courtyards and narrow streets that are usually off-limits to tourists.
City Chronicles: Interesting Facts from the Past and Present
We will discuss the differences between West and East Jerusalem and the people living here. You will learn about the historical relationships between Jews and Muslims and how they coexist now. I'll tell you how 6 Christian denominations and 2 Muslim families gained the keys to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and explain Russia's role in this. In addition, you will understand why every morning the gates of the monastery are opened by adherents of Islam.
Traditions of the ultra-Orthodox community, the history of the Turkish wall, and the daily life of ordinary city residents - you will delve into the fate of the locals and feel the diversity of Jerusalem.
