About this experience
For thousands of years, the city's residents lived within the city walls. In the mid-19th century, changes occurred as a result of the Russo-Turkish wars and the intervention of European powers. This tour is dedicated to the history of the first residential districts outside the city walls.
Itinerary
We will visit the neighborhoods of Yemin Moshe, Mishkenot Sha'ananim, Mahane Israel, and Nahlat Shiva. We will also explore the legacy of the British Empire - King David Hotel, the main post office, and YMCA.
If desired, we will visit the former Russian pilgrims' hostel, which Britain turned into a prison. Today, it is a museum-prison of Jewish underground prisoners who fought against British occupation in the years 1920-1947.
