Kazbegi: God's Neighbourhood
About this experience
Alpine landscapes with lakes, deep gorges, and icy springs - a picturesque journey will introduce you to the life of the highlanders. You will see ancient monasteries and temples, traditional villages, and unique natural landmarks. And I will tell you about the history and culture of our people and share local legends.
What to Expect
Fortresses and Gorges
We will visit the Ananuri Fortress, which rises majestically above the Zhinvali Reservoir. You will see the Gudauri ski resort with its famous springs and enjoy stunning views of the Aragvi Gorge at the Friendship Arch. The entire eastern highland of the Caucasus will unfold before your eyes - the mountains have never seemed so close!
Highlander Traditions
Through the Cross Pass, we enter the historical region of Khevi and its center - the village of Kazbegi. Against the backdrop of snowy slopes and clear skies, the famous Holy Trinity of Gergeti and the only cross-domed church in the Eastern Caucasus will shine. The ancient shrines will amaze you with their medieval atmosphere and beauty. And to end our journey, we will visit the Dariali Gorge - the most spectacular place of the Military-Georgian Road.
