Beauties of the Georgian mountains
About this experience
Traveling along the Military-Georgian Road is one of the most impressive adventures that can happen to you in Georgia. You will see the mighty Kazbek, breathe mountain air, drink wonderful water from mineral springs, enjoy magnificent views, learn about the differences between different Georgian ethnic groups, hear bright legends and significant stories, and of course, taste authentic khinkali, the birthplace of which is right here.
What to expect
Magnificent nature and colorful history of the region
Along the way, you will stop near the most interesting sites, and I will not only tell you historical facts, but also local legends, myths, and even fairy tales. You will learn about the submerged ancient city, archaeological excavations, explore the beautiful Zhinvali Reservoir. In the medieval fortress of Ananuri, you will hear about the feud of local princes, which led to a tragic outcome, and see an impregnable tower that revealed its secrets only in the 20th century when it was unbricked. On the way, there will be the Kashveti postal station, where Pushkin once wrote poetry, the ski resort Gudauri, the place of the picturesque confluence of the White and Black Aragvi rivers.
Panoramic viewpoints and the famous Kazbek
From the famous observation deck, you will be able to see the surrounding landscapes, the fantastic beauty of which speaks for itself, beyond it - the Cross Pass, beyond the pass we will stop at the narzan spring - yellow rocks - and then through the Baidara Valley we will arrive in the Terek Gorge and Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). There, by jeep, you will ascend to the Gergeti Church, literally imbued with the energy of antiquity, wisdom, and mystique. And the majestic Mount Kazbek and ancient legends of its appearance will leave an indelible impression on you and will surely become part of the brightest memories of Georgia. On the way back, we will stop at a restaurant that prepares the best khinkali in the country.
