About this experience
Kakheti is the most fertile region of Georgia and the homeland of the best local wine. We will explore it in a comfortable group tour. You can expect hectares of vineyards, ancient temples and fortresses, idyllic towns with tiled roofs, a 900-year-old plane tree, as well as a mini-picnic and tastings of wines, churchkhelas, mulled wine, honey, pastila, and cheese.
What to expect
Gastronomic Kakheti
We will visit the village of Manavi, where you will taste aromatic Georgian wines. You will also visit a local entrepreneur who will treat you to homemade churchkhela, pastila, honey, and delicious mulled wine. But that's not the end of our gastronomic adventures! Along the way, we will stop to see how Kakhetian lavash is baked in a clay oven on firewood, and if you wish, you can participate in the process. Additionally, we will have a mini-picnic with hot bread, homemade cheese, and other farm delights.
Signagi, Telavi, and Bodbe Monastery
Signagi is a 'city of love' in the style of Southern Italian classicism. You will stroll along its ancient fortress wall, enjoying views of the Alazani Valley. You will examine the mighty watchtowers and uncover their history. Visit the basilica of Saint Nino at the Bodbe women's monastery and take photos in front of the Marriage House, where weddings are registered at any time of day. We will not overlook the capital of Kakheti - the small town of Telavi, where Mimino could never reach by phone. You will make a wish at the 900-year-old tree and visit a wine cellar for tastings.
