About this experience
Kakheti is a place that defies description... This region must be seen with your own eyes, felt through centuries-old traditions, and tasted through wine. The expanses of Alazani Valley, ancient stones of fortress walls and Bodbe Monastery, scenes from 'Mimino,' carved balconies of Sighnaghi, the history of the princely family, tastings, and winemaking secrets — I invite you to journey to hospitable Eastern Georgia!
What to Expect
Kakheti Landscapes and Ancient Bodbe Monastery
On the way, flat landscapes will be replaced by vineyards stretching into the distance – you will encounter the famous Alazani Valley. During the journey, we will make stops to capture the best views. Along the way, I promise an immersive dive into Sakartvelo traditions, Georgian toasts, and useful tips – such as how to choose the tastiest local products. The first stop is Bodbe Monastery: I will share the history of the monastery and of Saint Nino, who brought Christianity and rests here.
Sighnaghi — More Than a City of Love
In the small, Italy-like town of Sighnaghi, you will learn why it is called the most romantic city in Georgia. You will hear the sad love story of artist Niko Pirosmani, and optionally, get acquainted with the paintings of this Georgian primitivist in the local museum. Then a stroll along the city's defensive wall (again, views!) and, of course, lunch with traditional cuisine.
Wine — Kakheti's Main Brand
After lunch, we head to one of the wineries – I will talk about the specifics of each so you can choose. You will learn about the grape culture of our country and the secrets of Georgian winemaking, see how wine is poured into qvevris, and taste 4 types of Georgia's symbolic drink.
Chavchavadze Princes' House-Museum and Telavi Town
In the estate of the ancient princely family of Georgia, you will walk through a picturesque garden, make a wish by a special tree, and learn the history of the family of General Alexander Chavchavadze, Griboedov's father-in-law. Local guides will talk about the house's interiors and let you try the signature wine 'Tsindali.' Then we return to Tbilisi via Telavi, the birthplace of 'Mimino' – I will show you the places where scenes of the beloved film were shot.

Great perfectly planned route! Plus, Georgy adjusted to our spontaneous wishes, and we had a wine tasting and a wonderful lunch at a small private estate (I recommend discussing in advance). Very soulful about wine, Mimino, and everything else. Thank you!🙏
