Get ready for a packed bus trip to the east of Georgia, to the region of Kakheti. The sunny Alazani Valley, the ancient Bodbe Monastery, the Italian lanes of Sighnaghi, the long fortress wall, the taste of Georgian dishes, and - Kakheti wouldn't be Kakheti without it - wine. Prepare to admire, listen, taste, and take lots of photos!
What to Expect
Viticulture traditions and wine tasting. In the homeland of winemaking, you will first find yourself at a small private winery: hospitable hosts will tell you about the Kakhetian way of making wine, the peculiarities of the "qvevri" adaptation, and the types of Georgian wines. Then, of course, you will taste Kakhetian wines: more than 6 varieties of wine, as well as real homemade chacha.
History of the Enlightener of Georgia in Bodbe. Warming your soul with the inspiring aroma of Kakhetian wines, it's time to give it space and tranquility. For this, you will visit the Bodbe Monastery, where rests the great Georgian saint Nino. Follow Georgia's Christian path and immerse yourself in the healing waters of the holy spring. And then visit another place connected with Saint Nino - it is not frequented by tourists, but it is worth your attention!
Sighnaghi: Little Italy and a big lunch. In the 'city of love', you will stroll through charming streets and see the longest fortress wall in Europe. And then you will have lunch in a restaurant overlooking the Alazani Valley.
