About this experience
In this program, we offer you to see all the beauty of Kakheti in one day! You will discover this picturesque, historical, and blessed land: visit ancient sites, stroll through charming streets, taste wine in the estate of Prince Chavchavadze, admire the Alazani Valley from different viewpoints. And of course, we promise interesting stories about the past and the culture of our Georgia.
What to Expect
The road from Tbilisi will pass through the Gombori Pass with stunning views outside the window. Along the way, the guide will talk about the history of Kakheti, Georgian winemaking peculiarities, and the traditions of the locals.
Telavi: Mimino and Wine. In the region's capital, you will recall a character from the legendary movie, taste wine from the 19th-century wine cellar of Sighnaghi, see the 1000-year-old plane tree, and the palace of King Irakli II.
Tsinandali - Estate of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze, the father-in-law of Alexander Griboedov. In the halls of the estate, you will examine items that belonged to the Chavchavadze family, Lermontov, and Griboedov. Then you will taste 4 types of wine from the family wine cellar, including the famous variety Tsinandali.
Georgia + Italy = the town of Signagi. You will see why this place is called the city of love as you walk through romantic streets with wooden balconies. You will also visit the ancient fortress.
Bodbe Monastery amidst cypresses. This is the resting place of Saint Nino, so here you will learn about the destiny of the baptizer of Kartli and the beginning of Georgian Orthodox history.
Make churchkhela! On the way back, we will stop at a local farmer: under his guidance, you will participate in making Georgian 'Snickers'; try various types of churchkhela, pastila, and other sweets.
Moreover, we will give you a bonus - a walking tour of Tbilisi with one of the city's best guides.
