About this experience
The city of Chiatura is beautifully located along a river between mountains. In the past, numerous cable cars were used to travel from one area to another - you will ride on them and enjoy the views. Then we will visit the monastery with the Katskhi Pillar - there is a temple at its very top! We will also visit Grakliani - an ancient settlement, Stalin Museum, and the cave city of Uplistsikhe.
What to Expect
Tbilisi - Grakliani (1 hour drive). Stop for half an hour to explore one of the oldest settlements in the world, dating back 4000 years. It was discovered during the construction of the highway and turned into a museum.
Grakliani - Gori (15-20 min drive). If desired, we will visit the Stalin Museum. Here you can also visit the ancient cave city of Uplistsikhe (2nd millennium BC). This visit will take about an hour.
Gori - Chiatura (2 hours drive). We will ascend to various cable car stations, offering magnificent views of the city and its surroundings. This will take approximately 2 hours.
Chiatura - Katskhi Pillar (15-20 min drive). Stop for half an hour to admire the monastery and temple on the top of a solitary rock.
Katskhi Pillar - Tbilisi (3 hours drive).
During the journey, we will tell you about Imereti - the region of Georgia that we will visit. We will share interesting facts about all the visited attractions and just have a great time together!
