About this experience
You will discover a region untouched by excessive tourist attention - the blessed Racha. You will travel to this most beautiful natural region to see the mountain panoramas of northern Georgia, the monastery of a hermit monk on a stone pillar, and the blue lake. These places will lead you to Khvanchkara, the homeland of the famous red wine - the real deal is made only here, and you will taste it!
What Awaits You
Picturesque Stops
From Tbilisi, the journey leads north to picturesque mountainous regions: over passes with breathtaking panoramas. You will pass through Chiatura and learn why it is called the 'city of cable cars' and why it is almost a ghost town. You will see a natural and man-made wonder - the 40-meter Katskhi Pillar, on top of which the monastery is located. In addition, we will stop at the Shaori reservoir, where during a picnic you will hear about the history, nature, and traditions of the region.
Hometown of Khvanchkara
On the way, I will tell you about the history of Georgia, the cultural specifics, and the geography of the less-known mountainous regions - Tusheti, Svaneti, Khevsureti, and Racha, where you will come for the best 'Khvanchkara' wine. To find the real wine, you will taste it at two wineries and at a private winery, where you will enjoy the famous red semi-sweet and rare wines that are hard to find even in Tbilisi: Usakhelauri, Tetra, Tvishi. And the tastings will be accompanied by stories about the peculiarities of local winemaking and the wine geography of Georgia.

I believe that with us, Evgeny successfully embodied the idea of a tw...

The theme of the tour is not revealed in any way, Evgeny kept asking all the time what we already know from the previous tours, mostly answering our questions. The impression was that there was no plan, the...

It was amazing, we visited the unique tower of Khachi, then had lunch by Lake Shaori, and headed towards the wine region of Racha. The first stop was at the Bugauli plant - tasting Tetra and Khvanchkara. Tetra, a semi-sweet ...
