About this experience
Imereti is a picturesque region located two hours away from Tbilisi. It is famous for its nature: cliffs, vast green meadows, rivers, waterfalls where you can swim. There is also the only via ferrata in the Caucasus and the unique Katskhi Pillar, where a monk named Maxim resides at the top. And all of this awaits you on the excursion!
What to Expect
I still remember my impressions when I first walked this route - it was incredible! After exploring different locations, I have created an interesting program suitable even for beginners with minimal physical training. You will enjoy beautiful views, experience the adrenaline of climbing rocks, and make new acquaintances. In a one-day tour to Imereti, we will visit:
- Katskhi Pillar. This is a chapel located on a narrow cliff at a height of 40 meters. It is home to a monk named Maxim, who began the restoration of this place. We will climb the neighboring rock, where there are 2 observation platforms to get a closer look at the famous pillar and take photos of Imereti from above.
- Small Shavmoreva Waterfall on the Prone River. We will drive to the village of Sveri and then embark on a short hike (6.5 km round trip). We will descend into the canyon, cross the river on foot, and reach the waterfall on the other side. There we will have a picnic, take photos, and you can even swim in the waterfall - a true relief after the heat of Tbilisi!
- Via Ferrata. After the waterfall, we will start the extreme part of the program - climbing rocks. We will provide equipment, give instructions, and tackle the mountain route. Via Ferrata is safe (we use climbing insurance) but thrilling: we will climb to a height of 50 meters, stop at observation platforms with incredible views of the expanses of Imereti, and even swing on swings at bird-flight height.
Organizational Details
- The price includes: transfer in a comfortable SUV Renault Duster or Renault Arkana, guide support, instructor services for via ferrata, equipment, drone photo and video shooting
- Meals are not included (optional). You can also bring a snack with you.
- The program is suitable for participants aged 10 and above
