About this experience
While in Macedonia, you don't have to go far from the city to enjoy the beauty of nature. Here in Skopje, nature surrounds you everywhere: ascending on the cable car, you will explore mountain and forest landscapes, then sail by boat on the emerald lake Treska, hidden among the sheer cliffs of the canyon, and descend into the stalactite cave.
What to expect
High-altitude panorama
On a double-decker bus, we will head to an amazing place called Middle Vodno. We will hop on the cable car and admire the city panorama from the funicular cabin leading to the Millennium Cross. Once out of the cabin, you will stroll through paths leading into coniferous and deciduous forests, relax on one of the benches near the Millennium Cross platform, and admire the landscapes of mountains, fields, and the city.
Scenic lakes
Then, filled with positive emotions, we will ride the cable car again, but back. Our next stop is Saraj. Here you will see the bubbling mountain lake Treska, where international rafting and canoeing competitions take place. But we go further — to the hydroelectric power station and Matka Canyon. Just imagine: between sheer cliffs lies an emerald lake with amazingly pure transparent water. We will definitely take a boat from the locals, glide on the water surface and sail along the cliffs to Vrelo, one of the deepest stalactite caves in Macedonia. Inside it, there is an underground lake, which recently was named 'Russian'.
On the way back, we can sit near the lake, in a restaurant with national cuisine or just refresh ourselves (or warm up) with a cool juice and have a cup of coffee.
