About this experience
I invite you to a rich journey through picturesque Montenegro! You will enjoy rivers, mountains, and a lake, visit a small town with a rich history, and wander through a mysterious cave. I will tell you about the formation of the country and why it did not have access to the sea until 1918. How the Montenegrins lived in ancient times and during Yugoslavia, how they live today.
What to expect
Colorful Crnojević River
You will be greeted by the medieval town of Crnojević River, comfortably located on the banks of the Obod River. You will appreciate its main attractions: the 19th-century Danilo's Bridge and the summer residence of Metropolitan Peter of Cetinje. You will admire the mountains and observe the rare birds that inhabit this place, including even Dalmatian pelicans. I will reveal why this tiny town with a population of less than 100 people is called the "cradle of Montenegrin statehood" and how its history unfolded.
Lake Skadar and Lipska Cave
We will sail to Lake Skadar along the Crnojević River and enjoy its untouched nature. We will climb to an observation platform and see from above the places we passed by. You will also visit Lipska Cave with amazing karst formations. Wandering through its corridors and tunnels, you will admire magical stalactites and stalagmites. You will learn when the cave was formed and when it was opened to visitors.
