About this experience
Throughout its long history, Skopje has experienced many events: flourishing during the Ottoman Empire, two devastating earthquakes, and rebirth. Today, it is a vibrant, 'living' and very interesting city. You will immerse yourself in its past and present, learn about local customs, culture, and traditional cuisine.
What to expect
Colorful Old Town
You will stroll through the cobblestone streets of the Old Town with mosques, caravanserais, craft workshops, and small shops. You will admire the medieval Stone Bridge and colorful two-story buildings. Additionally, I will show you the Venetian fortress Kale and the Clock Tower Saat Kula. I will tell you how Skopje looked in different centuries and what events took place there.
Modern Skopje
Skopje is not just winding alleys with low-rise buildings. You will appreciate the magnificent Macedonia Square and the 20-meter Triumphal Arch, opened in our time. You will also see numerous urban monuments: the Byzantine Emperor Justinian I, the revolutionary Goce Delchev, and King Alexander the Great. I will uncover which other famous people are connected to our country and how they influenced its development.
