About this experience
If you love nature, you must visit Mavrovo Park. Here you will find all the natural diversity of Macedonia: mountains, canyons, peaks, as well as picturesque gorges of Shara, Korab, Deshat, and Bistra. In the forests, you will encounter thousands of plant species, many of which are rare or endangered. And if you're lucky, we will admire the most beautiful birds and forest cats, deer, and even bears!
What to Expect
Mavrovo National Park (73,000 ha at an altitude of 1220 m above sea level) is one of my favorite places, where in winter we ski with friends, and in summer we escape the city heat near the lake.
Unfortunately, there are no regular buses to this beautiful park located in the northwest of Macedonia, so few tourists manage to get there. We will go there by car. I will take you along mountain serpentine roads to the lake paradise hidden in the mountains of the National Park.
We will pass through the cities of Tetovo and Gostivar to Lake Mavrovo. Then - through the mountain road to the heart of the National Park to another amazing lake - Debar Lake. The dizzying mountain landscapes and fresh air will transport you to another dimension and will stay in your memory for a long time, giving you delight from the beauty of pristine nature.
