What to Expect
History and Spirit of the Ancient City
We will explore the city starting with the Gothic Quarter, the heart of old Barcelona. We will walk through narrow streets filled with myths and legends, see locations from famous movies, taste national sweets and liqueurs. Then we will head to the Old Port and continue our journey through time, strolling along Barcelona's main pedestrian boulevard — La Rambla. You will learn about Roman and medieval Barcelona, hear stories about the Catalans' struggle for independence, see the Guell Palace, visit the Royal Square, and taste Catalan prawns at La Boqueria, the oldest market in Europe.
Catalan Modernism and Gaudi's Creations
You will admire the masterpieces of Catalan modernist architects such as Antoni Gaudi and his contemporaries. We will not only study the facades of mansions but also visit their inner courtyards and entrances adorned with marble, ceramic tiles, stained glass, and mosaics. We will approach Europe's largest architectural masterpiece and the unique genius of Gaudi — the Sagrada Familia Basilica, walk around it, visit the chapel where the architect is buried, and then head to Guell Park with its world's longest mosaic bench, 'gingerbread' houses, and 'Calvary' at 210 meters above sea level, where you can witness an unforgettable Catalan sunset after the tour...
Iconic Cafes and Restaurants of Barcelona
You will not only uncover the secrets of Barcelona's history and architecture but also taste it! To try delicious cocktails, we will visit the city's most famous cocktail bar, a favorite spot of artists like Miro and Hemingway. And if you get hungry, we will have lunch at a legendary restaurant where the menu was designed by Pablo Picasso himself. We will ascend to the best viewpoint in the city and enjoy coffee overlooking all of Barcelona. After exploring Gaudi's masterpieces, we will sit down at a restaurant offering cuisine from the Extremadura region, known for producing the best Spanish Iberian ham.
