About this experience
This tour is the perfect introduction to Barcelona! I have curated the most iconic attractions of the city into this itinerary. You will visit the Gothic Quarter and delve into its mysterious and dark past, stroll along the main pedestrian street, see 'living statues,' and admire several masterpieces by the great architect Gaudi, including the Sagrada Familia church.
What to Expect
- We will walk along La Rambla Boulevard. This is the main pedestrian street in Barcelona, the 'nerve and pulse' of the city. I will show you its main attractions: the Boqueria Market, the grand Liceu Theater, the famous drinking fountain - a cult gathering spot for FC Barcelona fans, 'living statues,' and much more.
- We will explore Guell Palace - the ancestral home of a patron and close friend of Antoni Gaudi. Designed and built by the grand architect himself.
- We will visit the heart of the city - the Gothic Quarter, with its glorious and dark past, mysteries, legends, and myths. The Cathedral, Royal Palace, and narrow streets of the El Call Jewish quarter - silent witnesses of the river of life and human passions, joy, and sorrow.
- We will dive headfirst into the history from the Roman foundation of the city to the Catholic kings and modern times. You will see the church where Gaudi himself was a parishioner and learn where he headed on that fateful day of his final earthly journey.
- We will stroll along Passeig de Gracia - the city's posh, expensive, grand street with its famous Eixample district of discord. We will study Gaudi's scandalous and world-renowned architectural wonder - Casa Mila.
- And we will conclude our walk at the great masterpiece and heritage of humanity - the temple of all times and peoples Sagrada Familia.
