About this experience
Kakheti is a wine region where the majority of our country's grapes grow. The first seed of cultivated grape in the world was discovered in Georgia. This seed is 8000 years old, which is why Georgia is considered the homeland of viticulture and winemaking. Georgians highly respect this plant and decorate churches with vine images; every local resident tries to plant a vine near their house, even if they live in a big city. You will visit the famous Alazani Valley, see Georgia's vineyards, learn about the winemaking process declared a UNESCO cultural heritage, and of course, taste the famous Georgian wines.
What to Expect
St. Nino Monastery and Georgian Las Vegas
You will visit the active female monastery of St. Nino at Bodbe. It is here that rests the enlightener, by whose efforts Georgia became a Christian country in the 4th century. Then you will head to one of the most beautiful and picturesque towns in Georgia - Sighnaghi, known as the 'City of Love': the local marriage house operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Wine Tasting
More than 500 grape varieties grow in Georgia, the largest number of varieties on such a small piece of land in the world. At one of Georgia's leading wineries, 'Traditional Winemaking of Kakheti,' you will enjoy a wine tasting.
Visiting Farmers!
After wine tastings, on the way to Tbilisi, we will take you to a Georgian farmer's house where you will be greeted with aromatic dishes of traditional cuisine for lunch and cool homemade wine accompanied by toasts from the homeowner.
