The Key to Tbilisi - interactive group tour with a mediator guide
About this experience
The mediator is a guide from your familiar world to the unexplored. Ancient Tbilisi is hospitable, but many of its corners require keys. We have them! We will take you through the Old Town, turn into secret courtyards, and show underground passages. Treat you with signature wine and hot bread straight from the ancient toné oven. Offer to play with the city - and experience incredible pleasure from it!
What to expect
Central Tbilisi
Our journey will start from the Freedom Square. You will learn how it has changed over the centuries, as well as what significant events happen in the square to this day.
We will see many attractions:
- Restored Gudiashvili Square and the Kala District
- Anchiskhati Basilica - one of the first churches in Tbilisi
- Glass Bridge of Peace and Rike Park
- Cable car and Narikala Fortress, which is 100 years older than the city of Tbilisi itself
- Abanotubani District with hammam complex and Meidan Square
- Memorial to the Tamada (toastmaster) and Caravanserai, which in the Middle Ages served as a shelter for merchants and travelers
Hidden Tbilisi
- We will explore the colorful districts of Sololaki and Mtsminda, famous for magnificent revenue houses and beautiful foyers, cozy Italian-style courtyards, and hidden underground passages.
- Visit a special courtyard, where ancient artifacts were found during archaeological excavations. Access to these locations, as well as secret codes to the most famous foyers, is not possessed by everyone in the city - but we do!
Tasty Tbilisi
- We will visit one of the neighborhoods of the Old Town and stop at an interesting attraction - an ancient oven for baking traditional Georgian bread. Watch how the dough is prepared for baking and placed in the toné, then taste the hot bread with a crispy crust.
- We will go for a wine tasting, featuring wines made by local winemakers from the best varieties of Georgian grapes. You will appreciate the bright palette of taste shades and enrich your knowledge with numerous facts about the winemaking art of the country.
- At the end, we will try on national costumes and have a photoshoot in them. Don't forget to bring your camera or free up space on your phone!
What makes the tour with a mediator guide unique
The mediator is an intermediary and guide between you and the world he describes. You will immerse yourself in historical events through a unique interactive format. We will use an electronic album containing vintage photos, quest elements, and quizzes, as well as a meditative approach to the conversation, where a friendly discussion is created between the guide and the tour participants, rather than a lecture-monologue.

I was very pleased with the randomly chosen tour, it turned out to be with a very pleasant, polite guide Valery. Time flew by unnoticed. Amazing wine tasting! Wonderful tea shop, fresh hot bread. Beautiful locations in the old city. I recommend it if you want a calm, unhurried informative tour.
