Discover Tbilisi – Warm and Lively!
About this experience
My tour is an inspiring combination of facts about Tbilisi, colorful stories, songs, and toasts. This is the only way to get to know the vibrant East-South city where everything ancient and old, yet dear to the heart, intertwines with cosmopolitan and modern. Here you are invited to balconies and treated with coffee, behind the old arch hides a caravanserai, and behind the glass walls - the Ministry of Justice. I will show you all the facets of the city - you will never forget Tbilisi from Mariam.
What to Expect
Soul of Tbilisi, hidden from the uninitiated
Courtyard-wells are not only in St. Petersburg - in old Tbilisi, you will find many cozy courtyards where families live. I will tell you why the courtyards are called 'Italian', how the local life is arranged, and you will witness how everyday life flows here. In Tbilisi, no one will drive you away from their yard - on the contrary, Georgian hospitality pushes residents to communicate, and sometimes invite passers-by in. You will learn what role balconies have played for the Georgian city from time immemorial and what Tbilisi has in common with Moscow. Break a loaf of fresh, crunchy bread, baked according to the traditional recipe right in the 15th-century bakery, and try the most delicious and authentic Kakhetian churchkhela. Behind an inconspicuous arch, you will see an ancient caravanserai.
Different facets of the city
Tbilisi changes and remains the same, I will show you the city from all sides: modern and ancient. You will visit:
- Freedom Square and the center of old Tbilisi - on the picturesque Leselidze Street;
- In the Catholic Cathedral, Jvari Mother Church, and even at the Tamada statue;
- On the Peace Bridge and in Rike Park - here you will appreciate the new architecture and high-tech beauties of the city;
- In the Narikala Fortress and the famous Abanotubani quarter, where you will notice features of Persian heritage;
- By the pheasant statue, from which the history of Tbilisi began, and at the sulfur baths, which Pushkin and Dumas loved to visit;
- In an authentic wine cellar, where you will be able to try several varieties of Georgian wine.
The entire walk will be on a friendly note, I will teach you the most important Georgian words, we will be raising toasts together and laughing a lot. Even if you have never raised a toast on a tour before!
