The Eternal City: A Journey Through Centuries in One Day
About this experience
You will explore all the major attractions of Rome in 6-7 hours. You will travel through the layers of millennia-old history, transitioning from one century to another. Ancient ruins, the walls of imperial and royal Rome, squares, palaces, and fountains of papal Rome, Renaissance and Baroque monuments, St. Peter's Basilica... You will unravel the epic history, immersing yourself in the atmosphere of each period and the rhythm of Rome.
What to Expect
Testimonies of Ancient Rome
The journey will begin at the Colosseum: from its millennia-old history, I will extract the most 'delicious' pieces. You will examine the nearby Arch of Constantine with its unusual nickname, walk along the imperial forums, the ruins of the Temple of Mars Ultor and the Temple of the Goddess of Peace, where many treasures were once kept. The Forum of Trajan will also immerse you in the atmosphere of antiquity, and my stories will help you imagine the ancient grandeur of Rome. Additionally, you will encounter the Theatre of Marcellus, built 60 years before the Colosseum (and people still live there!), and place your hand in the famous Mouth of Truth.
Riddles of the Capitoline Hill
From the height of the Capitoline Hill, you will see all the familiar objects and uncover the mystery of the hill's ensemble, encrypted by its creator Michelangelo. And on the northern Capitoline Hill, you will see the Vittoriano complex - a marble palace in the Empire style. To build it, they demolished a medieval quarter, but luckily, during the excavations, they discovered an insula - the ruins of a Roman multi-story residential building from the 2nd century AD. Examining them, you will learn how the ancient Romans spent their time, what they ate and drank, which gods they prayed to, how they celebrated holidays, and what they gossiped about.
The Most Interesting in the Vicinity of Piazza Venezia
At Piazza Venezia - the 'entrance to the Ancient world' - you will learn how the Venetian Palace appeared here and what incredible scenes could be seen in front of it. You will be charmed by the fountain 'The Wedding of Venice with the Sea', and on another picturesque square, you will encounter two miniature ancient temples. You will walk through the quiet Piazza Mattei with the Turtle Fountain and peek into the Tartaruga cafe (Turtle), where Joseph Brodsky loved to write poetry. In this part of the tour, you will also visit the Flower Square, where the vibrant life of the market boils, and the sellers look as if they jumped out of Fellini and Pasolini movies.
Roman Baroque
You will see the hymn to Roman love and eternal youth - the Trevi Fountain. You will feel like participants in a water festival under the open sky, and the god Ocean will grant your wishes. At the Spanish Steps, you will find the legendary staircase, the elegant Barcaccia fountain in the shape of a boat, and the cafe 'Il Greco', frequented by many outstanding people. Piazza Navona will delight you with Bernini's magnificent Fountain of the Four Rivers and the touching legend of Saint Agnes.
The Pantheon, Castel Sant'Angelo, and St. Peter's Square
In the Pantheon, the only ancient temple in Rome, you will feel its pagan spirit, learn the secrets of the incomparable dome, see the tomb of the great Raphael, and get an idea of ancient architecture. Also on the agenda are the mausoleum, the residence of the Roman popes, the prison, the treasury of Vatican treasures, the museum: all in one place - Castel Sant'Angelo. You will uncover all the pages of its history, learn about intrigues and innocent bloodshed. From there, along the passetto - the saving corridor of the Roman popes, you will walk to St. Peter's Basilica, whose colonnade seems to embrace the square of the same name, and hear vivid stories about the Vatican.

Few can tell the history of ancient Rome in such detail as Victoria. Behind every monument lies a story, behind every temple - legends and destinies, ancient customs and historical heroes. I recommend taking this tour if you love history and are ready to learn a lot!
