About this experience
Oh, beautiful Rome! The eternal city that has absorbed different eras and events. You will visit important places and milestones of ancient Rome, immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of its myths and legends, and ultimately gain a better understanding of the 'Capital of Three Empires' and its history. Along our way, we will encounter the Colosseum, the Capitoline Hill, Piazza Venezia, the Pompey Theatre, the Pantheon, and other legendary landmarks of the city.
What to Expect
From Flavius to Romulus and Remus: Heroes of the Ancient City
Let's start our walk at the Colosseum — one of the most famous ancient structures. I will tell you why the amphitheater is also named after the Flavians, share the history of the monument's construction, and remind you of the times when for three centuries the Colosseum was used for the brutal spectacles of Ancient Rome — gladiatorial battles. We will walk through the Imperial Forums: of Augustus, Nerva, Domitian, and Trajan, and climb the Capitoline Hill, where the main temple of Jupiter Capitolinus once stood. Here you will encounter the symbol of Rome — the she-wolf, who, according to legend, nursed Romulus and Remus. At this historical site, I will share the legend of the twin brothers who founded the city and reveal amazing pages of their biography.
Rome — Where Eras Meet
You will find yourself at Piazza Venezia and see the palace built by a Venetian pope. I will lead you to the famous balcony from which Mussolini spoke and show you the monumental Altar of the Fatherland with the eternal flame to the unknown soldier of World War I. You will also meet the talking statues, which for centuries have been exchanging sensational news and witty verses. I will explain why the statues 'spoke' and show you another legendary place — the steps of the Pompey Theatre, where Julius Caesar was assassinated.
We will also visit the Pantheon — the temple of all gods and the most beautiful Baroque landmark — Piazza Navona, where you will admire the famous fountain of the four main rivers and continents.
