About this experience
In Rome, Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, and modernity coexist simultaneously. Each monument here is a part of a millennia-old history. During the walk, I will help you navigate among ancient buildings and understand their purpose. The Colosseum, Piazza Venezia, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon - and this is just a small part of our program!
What to Expect
Our excursion is an overview of places and monuments that confirm the existence of ancient Rome, which is over 3000 years old. You will not only visit key attractions but also immerse yourself in history: learn how the city lived during the Middle Ages and how it was revived during the Renaissance. So, in the program:
- Colosseum. You will learn how the world's largest amphitheater, where the famous shows of ancient Romans - gladiator battles, were held.
- Roman Forum and Palatine Hill - the place of Rome's foundation and the starting point of the Roman Empire's development.
- Imperial Forums Street - a wide avenue crossing the ruins that were once the administrative center of a huge empire.
- Capitoline Hill, where consultations with the gods took place and where Rome was predicted to become the head of the world.
- Piazza Venezia. The central square of the city, to which all Roman roads lead. At this point, the periods of Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance merge, and the majestic white Altar of the Fatherland dominates everything.
- Pantheon - 'Temple of all the gods'. The place where, according to legend, the legendary Romulus ascended to Olympus. This is the only ancient temple in the world that has survived in its original form.
- Piazza Navona. Once the stadium of Emperor Domitian transformed into a square, which thanks to great masters turned into a theatrical stage. The main characters here are marble figures.
- Trevi Fountain - the most beautiful composition adorning the ancient Roman aqueduct-water pipeline from the 1st century BC.
- Spanish Steps - a masterpiece of urban planning from the Renaissance period.
