About this experience
From the Colosseum to the Vittoriano Palace, on this overview tour we will walk through almost 30 centuries and visit monuments from all epochs. I will tell you about historical figures who played a significant role in the fate of the Eternal City, reveal the secrets of fountains, forums, and churches. You will also discover the best coffee shop in Rome and immerse yourself in the daily life at the local market.
What to Expect
Rome - from Romulus and Remus
The tour will start from ancient times. The majestic Colosseum, where gladiators fought - the darlings of the city's public; the daily life of Roman forums; luxurious imperial squares built in honor of conquests of new territories - you will hear about the history of Rome starting from the 8th century BC. And then we will climb the Capitoline Hill and transport ourselves to the dark Middle Ages, when Michelangelo's genius reigned.
Renaissance and Roman Baroque
During the walk, you will encounter masterpieces of the Renaissance and the Baroque era:
- The famous Trevi Fountain - you will discover its history and hear about Princess Volkonskaya, Gogol, and Emperor Augustus;
- The Fountain of the Four Rivers in Piazza Navona - by Bernini: I will tell you about the difficulties and backstage intrigues he had to face;
- The Barcaccia Fountain on the elegant Spanish Steps, created by the hands of Bernini's father - we will talk about its past;
- The Church of St. Louis, where you will admire Caravaggio's paintings and appreciate the baroque style in a French manner.
And on Column Square - right here is where the city's government is located - we will see the intertwining of two styles: ancient Corinthian columns and baroque elements!
The Tasty Side of Rome
Strolling along the beautiful Via Condotti, we will visit an ancient Roman coffee shop, where you can try the amazingly delicate cappuccino. The tour will end at Campo dei Fiori Square: here, freethinkers from all over the city gather, and in the morning, the famous food market operates - I suggest tasting local products and discussing Italian cuisine.
Organizational Details
Separately, cappuccino at the El Greco coffee shop (from 2.5 to 9 euros) and tasting at the Flower Square (3-5 euros) can be paid for upon request.

Good tour, as a first introduction to the city it is quite suitable. The focus is on antiquity, while the Middle Ages and Modern times are only briefly mentioned. The Colosseum, forums, Piazza Venezia, Capitoline Hill and the Pantheon - we talked a little about everything.
