I will take you through the Old Town and show you the temples and buildings that have survived through the ages. I will tell you about the kings, battles, and the establishment of Christianity. You will see monuments representing the real embodiment of tolerance and hospitality, and uncover the character of the Georgian people.
What to expect
Tbilisi Stories
We will explore the entire Old Town: you will see the Sulfur Baths visited by many celebrities - including Dumas and Pushkin. Enjoy the beauty of the Leghvtakhevi Gorge, where a waterfall rages in the heart of the city, and at the weeping rock, you will hear the complex history of Queen Daredjan's Palace. I will show you a fragment of the Berlin Wall, which was presented as a gift to our Prime Minister - and explain the symbolism behind this gesture.
Tbilisi Churches
Georgia is a country of churches and monasteries. In Tbilisi, you will find many interesting examples of church architecture. We will see the oldest church in the city, Anchiskhati Church - I will tell you about the relic it is named after and show you a fragment of a wall dating back to the 5th century. By the walls of Sioni Cathedral, we will talk about Saint Nino, who brought Christianity to Georgia. You will see inscriptions and stone carvings of Metekhi Church, preserved since the Golden Age, and explore the chapel of Abo Tbileli - the city's patron saint.
