We will visit a true Arab market, the bustling ancient street of Al-Muizz, and the districts where Eastern Christians - Copts - reside. And everywhere we will be tasting the national cuisine: in a simple, yet very delicious way!
What to Expect
Authentic Cairo
We will drive and walk through the historic neighborhoods of Cairo, stopping by local street cafes. We will walk along the colorful Al-Muizz street, where many mosques and authentic establishments are concentrated. We will try to bake traditional bread in the 'Garbage City' and, if desired, work as sugarcane juice squeezers. We will enjoy the spicy aromas at the Eastern Khan-el-Khalili Bazaar and find the best street food spots in the Coptic Quarter.
Exploring Local Tastes
What do you imagine Egyptian cuisine to be like? Most likely, spicy and hot. And that's true, but not quite. Its range of flavors and nuances is much wider. You will taste four types of mahshi - various stuffed vegetables. You will taste the fiery kosheri, made of rice, pasta, lentils, and spicy sauce. Enjoy a local breakfast of eggplants, falafel, beans with bread. And find out what 'omo ale' is.
Organizational Details
- Food and drinks are paid for separately. All dishes according to the program - 25€ per person.
- For a group of up to 3 people, the tour is conducted in a comfortable car (included in the price)
- The tour can be conducted for a larger number of people - on a minibus, equipped with air conditioning and everything necessary (additional payment 16€)
- If you need to be met in the airport area and/or taken there after the tour, the additional cost will be 30€
Important: please confirm the reservation by 16:00 the previous day according to Egyptian time. If the tour is confirmed later, it may not be possible to conduct it.
