Egypt will conquer you with unusual food combinations, fantastic desserts, and drinks. You will visit locals' favorite places where tourists are rarely seen. You will taste baba ghanoush, mahshi, koshari, and sugarcane juice. And at sunset, you will head to a restaurant on the 60th floor or a Nile cruise with dinner and a show.
What to Expect
History, Food, and Hidden Gems
You will have breakfast at an authentic place overlooking the pyramids. Then you will explore the heart of Old Cairo. Visit Tahrir Square and walk along the ancient Al-Muizz street, stopping by the most non-touristy places. For example, a cafe that serves only one dish. But they do it so deliciously that it is sometimes hard to find a free table on five floors. For dinner, you can choose one of two options: a restaurant on the 60th floor with a panoramic view of Cairo or a Nile cruise with traditional food and folklore show.
Gastro-discoveries
Throughout the day, you will try the main national specialties and drinks: the famous eggplant dip baba ghanoush, and 4 types of mahshi, sometimes called 'Egyptian-style cabbage rolls'. Additionally, you will taste local sweets, freshly squeezed sugarcane juice, and the famous dish koshari made from rice, macaroni, and lentils, seasoned with a tomato-vinegar sauce.
Organizational Details
- Your tour will be led by a professional Egyptologist guide from our team
- Food and drinks are paid for separately. All dishes in the program (excluding dinner) - 35€ per person. Basic dinner at one of the two specified locations (optional) - 30€ per person.
- Upon request, we can visit the Giza Pyramid Plateau. Please inquire for details in a private message.
Important: please confirm the booking by 16:00 the previous day in Egyptian time. If the tour is confirmed later, it may not be possible to conduct it.
Transfer
- For groups of up to 3 people, the tour is conducted in a comfortable sedan car (included in the price)
- The tour can be conducted for a larger number of people - in a minibus equipped with air conditioning and all necessary amenities (additional fee of 16€)
- If you need to be picked up and/or dropped off at the airport area after the tour, there is an additional fee of 30€
