About this experience
From Yerevan you will set off to explore the southern part of the country. You will visit ancient monasteries and learn how Armenia became the first Christian state. Explore the Areni-1 cave and hear about the treasures found here. Taste wine at the winery and drink mineral water at the Jermuk gallery. And admire the waterfall known as the "Mermaid's Hair".
What to expect
- Khor Virap Monastery. You will learn how its history is connected with the proclamation of Armenia as the first Christian state in the world.
- Areni-1 Cave. We will tell you when it was discovered and what valuable artifacts of ancient civilization were found in it.
- Noravank Monastery - an ancient complex located against the backdrop of sheer red cliffs. You will enjoy Martian landscapes, visit the temple of the Holy Mother of God, and see the princes Orbelian's tomb.
- Areni Winery. You will be offered to taste several types of wines. If desired, you can buy your favorite ones.
- Jermuk Waterfall, or "Mermaid's Hair" - an amazingly beautiful place.Water here literally flows rather than falls from the rocks, creating the effect of a girl's flowing hair.
- Gallery of mineral waters in Jermuk. This is not only the hallmark of the resort center, but also one of the symbols of Armenia. You will try mineral water of different temperatures.
Organizational details
- Additional expenses - entrance to the Areni-1 Cave - 1500 drams per person, if there are 2 or more participants in the group, 3000 drams per person if there is only one participant
- Optionally, we will stop for a delicious Armenian lunch in a cozy place (paid separately)
