About this experience
This is a healing-bathing trip: the program includes a gallery of mineral waters where you can try calcium and sodium-enriched mineral water. We will visit a heart-shaped geyser with healing water on our way. And we will also visit a medieval monastery, admire a waterfall, and end the tour at a winery - wine tasting is already included in the price!
What to Expect
Noravank - a medieval monument of Armenian architecture. During the winter season, the monastery complex surrounded by winding red rocks is especially attractive - there are few tourists here. We will reach it through a picturesque 9-kilometer canyon. Along the way, you will see the Areni cave, where the oldest winery was found, as well as many other artifacts, about which I will tell you in detail.
Gallery of Mineral Waters. Pipes from sources of different temperatures are connected to it. You will be able to try the water and take some with you. Next to the gallery is a park where we will leisurely walk amidst the sound of murmuring streams and bird songs.
Jermuk Geyser. We will reach the geyser by off-road vehicle on stony roads. It is a natural heart-shaped pool with a temperature of +30 degrees, which is maintained year-round. You will learn about the benefits of this source for the body and take a bath (recommended time - 20 minutes).
Jermuk Waterfall. This is the second highest waterfall in Armenia (68 meters). Locals call it the 'mermaid's hair' - and I will tell you why.
Wine Tasting. On the way back, we will stop at one of the wineries in Areni. I will conduct an informative tour in the cellar, talk about different grape varieties. You will taste wine made from endemic Vayots Dzor grapes and apricot brandy, which will warm you with its unique warmth.
