About this experience
We invite you to travel to places reminiscent of ancient civilization and stunning with fantastic landscapes! You will visit the highly revered Armenian monastery Khor Virap and explore two ancient caves: Areni and Magila. Also, you will stroll through the famous resort city of Jermuk with its gorges, waterfalls, and mineral springs.
What to expect
City-resort Jermuk. You will breathe crystal clear air and taste healing water from mineral springs. Walk through the picturesque park and see the statue of a deer, the symbol of the city. Follow along the gorge and admire the canyon of the Arpa River. We will share the history and legends of these places.
Monastery of Khor Virap. A sacred place for all Armenians. You will learn when and under what circumstances this ancient monastery was built, how it is connected with Gregory the Illuminator, and how Christianity spread in Armenia.
Areni Cave. It has a history of 5500 years. You will stroll through its mysterious passages and corridors. And we will tell you about the amazing archaeological finds made during excavations.
Magila Cave. You will enter a real underground ecosystem where thousands of bats nest. Admire the whimsical karst formations and hear the story of the cave's formation.
