About this experience
I am going to make you fall in love not only with the architecture of Porto, but also with its cuisine. You will walk through old streets, examining squares, churches, houses covered with colorful tiles. And along the way, we will visit local cafes, where we will indulge in ham, olives, sardines, and other flavors of the city with green wine!
What to expect
Main highlights of Porto
We will meet at the Lion Fountain and head towards the vibrant sights, while also peeking into hidden but curious city corners. You will visit the Clerigos Church - a late Baroque masterpiece, see the most beautiful (in the world?) São Bento train station, whose walls are covered with azulejos tiles from floor to ceiling, telling the city's history. Stroll through old alleys to the Ribeira waterfront and cross the Luís I Bridge. Along the way, you will learn about life in this vibrant and sunny Porto, local traditions, and interesting facts from the city's biography.
Culinary tour
Parallel to the sightseeing walk, we will visit some places called Tasca - these are traditional Porto cafes, where you can taste local cuisine deliciously and affordably. I will recommend the most worthy examples of Portuguese gastronomy and tell you about the food culture in the country and interesting and non-obvious habits of the locals. The restaurant menu includes small sardines, homemade bread, cod cakes, as well as fried sausages, olives, and hot dogs. Port wine, green wine, and other types of wines will undoubtedly be at our table. If you have a sweet tooth, I will reveal the address of a store where you can taste various types of chocolate. You will learn about all the cafes and restaurants that are predominantly frequented by locals.
