What to Expect
Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City
The tour begins in the heart of Beijing at the 'Square of Heavenly Peace' – Tiananmen Square. You will learn about the history of the world's largest city square, its origins, initial purposes, and the events that take place there to this day. Next, you will visit the largest and most famous palace complex – the Forbidden City of Gugun. Within its walls, we will talk about the residence of 24 emperors, their lives, dreams, and acquired wisdom.
Secrets of Chinese Tea and Peking Duck
The Chinese tea ceremony is a special philosophy and culture that originated in ancient times. In the teahouse, you will immerse yourself in ancient traditions and taste different varieties of Chinese tea. Along with new flavors and aesthetic experiences, a leisurely narrative about the history and characteristics of tea will be added. After the ritual, I will take you to a local restaurant where you will try one of the most popular dishes in Chinese cuisine – Peking duck – and learn the secrets of its preparation.
The Eighth Wonder of the World, or the Great Wall of China
Visiting Beijing and not seeing the most grandiose human-made structure ever created would be a great omission. You will head to the most popular and strategically important section of the wall – Juyongguan. You will learn why and for what purpose the wall was built, whether it is truly visible from space, which mysteries of the monument remain unsolved to this day, and what legends are told about it. You will also try to feel the ancient spirit of the path trodden by the first Chinese emperor.
