About this experience
At our meeting, you will immerse yourself in the world of China: exotic and sometimes incomprehensible, but all the more attractive. I will take you through Tiananmen Square and share interesting facts from Beijing's past. You will get acquainted with the tea culture, explore unique buildings, observe silk production, and make many more discoveries!
What to expect
The People's Heart of China
Let's start with Tiananmen Square, famous for the tragic events of 1989. Here you will see important symbols of Beijing: the Chinese Parliament building - House of People's Assemblies, and the ultra-modern Great National Opera Theater. At the National Museum, you will learn about China's 5000-year history - I will comment on all the important milestones to give you a clear picture. Then I will briefly tell you about the monument to the people's heroes and Mao Zedong's mausoleum, which so attracts travelers.
The Largest Palace in the World
Next, we will approach the Tiananmen Gate, separating the square from the Forbidden City. You will learn how they were used in Ancient China and why they stand here now. Through the gate, we will enter the Forbidden City - the main palace complex of Chinese emperors since the Middle Ages. I will captivate you with stories about the dynasties that lived here, ancient traditions, and peculiarities of the palace itself, as well as reveal why the city is called 'forbidden'.
A Tea Break
After such significant and interesting sights, we will make a short stop at the Tea House to settle your knowledge and emotions - and you will head to the next places with new energy. Here you will be offered to taste several types of authentic tea, of which there are over 3000 varieties in China! Additionally, you will be able to participate in a traditional tea ceremony.
An Unusual-shaped Temple and Silk Museum
Next in the program is the Temple of Heaven - a complex that includes the only round-shaped temple in the city. You will admire the local sanctuary and learn about the rituals held here. Then I will show you the altar and the Prayer Hall, where Chinese emperors made sacrifices. The culmination of the journey through Beijing's history will be the Silk Museum: here you will observe the process of producing the soft fabric and learn about the history of the Silk Road.
