About this experience
During this trip, we will visit the main religious sites of Orthodox Montenegro, where you can seek spiritual and physical healing. The majestic Ostrog, the harmonious Zdrebaonik women's monastery, the Cetinje Monastery, which houses revered relics, and the amazing cave monastery Daibabe will tell their stories, while I will introduce you to the faith and culture of the Montenegrin people.
What to Expect
Heroic deeds and miraculous visions
The Cetinje Monastery, the residence of the Montenegrin metropolitans, houses such relics as the Right Hand of John the Baptist and a Particle of the Life-giving Cross. Located in the historical capital of the country - the city of Cetinje - it is famous for its rich history in the life of Orthodox Montenegro. I will tell you about its ups and downs and guide you inside. Nearby, in the Daibabe monastery, a truly extraordinary underground cave church, lies the relics of its founder: Simeon Daibabskiy. The church is surrounded by legends of the miraculous power of the saints, which will be revealed to you on a walk through the monastery courtyard.
3 meters above sea level
Ostrog, carved directly into the rock high in the mountains, is the main holy place in Montenegro. Its territory consists of two levels. The Church of St. Stanko, the lower church of the Ostrog monastery complex, houses the incorruptible hands of a child who refused to renounce Orthodoxy under pressure from the Turks. And in the upper part, rises the Church of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. You will be able to climb to the place where St. Basil of Ostrozhskiy passed away and see a grapevine with miraculous fruits growing here, despite the abnormal conditions.
Heavenly patron of Montenegro
Zdrebaonik is the last monastery on our way. We will explore the elegant complex: the Church of St. Archangel Michael, a large hospitable house, an icon-painting workshop, a library, a refectory. Here lie the relics of St. Arsenius, a chest with particles of saints (including St. Nicholas, Theophania, Magdalene), and the church shop offers healing creams and ointments made by the nuns.
