Military-Georgian Road: the path embodying the Caucasus
About this experience
Driving along the Military-Georgian road, you will thread together the main impressions of the Caucasian mountains: landscapes that have come to life from the pages of fantasy books, living stories of the past, and the aromas of juicy meat with dough. And at the Gergeti church, standing close to the heavens, you will admire the view of the majestic dormant volcano Kazbek - its snow-capped peak will crown the journey and become the main piece of the Caucasian 'puzzle'.
What awaits you
Tracing ancient history
The road will lead you to the most impressive places of the Darial Gorge. First, you will see the picturesque Zhinvali Reservoir. The surface of the reservoir will reveal the secret of the submerged temple, and in the surroundings, you will find the 16th-century Ananuri Fortress, belonging to the Aragvetian princes. In the village of Pasanauri, you will try khinkali according to the historical recipe - the Pasanauri dish is prepared with minced meat, giving it a special taste. And at the Holy Trinity Church in Gergeti, you will touch the rich Christian heritage of Georgia.
Beauty and power of the Georgian mountains
The mountains through which the Military-Georgian road runs hide many amazing corners. Not far from Pasanauri, you will see a wonderful sight - the merging of rivers of different colors, which flow for a long time without merging into a uniform stream. After crossing the Cross Pass, you will find yourself in Gudauri, where you will overlook the surroundings of the ski resort from the observation deck. On foot or by off-road vehicles, we will climb to a height of 2170 meters to the Holy Trinity Church in Gergeti. And it is there, besides the ancient church, that you will be greeted by a panorama of the legendary Kazbek - a mighty and self-willed symbol of Georgia.

We climbed to the pass at 2300 m, admired the gorge and paragliders gliding above it, reached the Church of...

The review will be detailed, but, since not everyone will read it to the end, I'll provide the summary first and then the details. I strongly do not recommend Georgiy as a guide, as he is not one!!! I absolutely do not understand where all these positive reviews come from. Georgiy is not a guide, he...
