Literary tour 'Silver Age in Tbilisi'
About this experience
Tbilisi was an important point on the map for the poets of the Silver Age. You will learn how they felt here and how Georgia changed their lives. What self-promotion workshops did Esenin conduct in the city, why was Mandelstam arrested upon entering Georgia, what poems did Pasternak write here, and much more.
What to expect
Over 3 hours you will:
- Visit the places of creative glory of Mayakovsky
- See the school where Gumilev studied
- Find the literary crossroads, on one side of which Balmont lived, on the other side Pasternak visited
- Visit the building where Mandelstam illegally spent the night and Esenin performed
The tour will be conducted by guide Alexey. He worked as a freelance guide at the Tretyakov Gallery. In Tbilisi, he began to explore the connection of Russian literature with Georgia - and found much more than he was looking for.
