About this experience
Serbia is not a big country, but very diverse, with a rich and tumultuous history and amazing nature. To understand Serbia, besides the capital, you need to visit other cities and corners. That is why I propose a journey beyond Belgrade, during which you will discover the color of Serbian cities and villages, enjoy natural beauties and national dishes, and learn about the country's development.
Program
- Nature of Western Serbia. We will travel on the Shargan Eight - a historic narrow gauge railway, running through numerous tunnels and viaducts. The surrounding nature will be a wonderful material for your photo albums and will charge you with positive energy. We will drive through the picturesque Mount Shargan, bathe in the healing water from the Bele Vode spring, make a stop at one of the railway stations, and try the unique Zlatibor kaymak.
- Kusturica's City. We will visit Kustendorf - the wooden city of director Emir Kusturica, which was created for the filming of one of the movies and has now become a popular tourist route.
- Beauties of Bosnia. Then we will cross the border and find ourselves in neighboring Bosnia. Nearby is the city of Visegrad, and in it another project of director Kusturica - the stone city of Andricgrad, dedicated to the famous Serbian writer Ivo Andric. His novel 'The Bridge on the Drina' was awarded the Nobel Prize. And you will be able to see with your own eyes this bridge - a splendid creation described in the novel, holding the secrets of history.
- Back to Belgrade. In the evening, you will probably be reluctant to part with these lands and return to Belgrade. But that can be fixed. You can stay overnight here and continue your journey through Western Serbia the next day, where the Tara and Drina rivers will amaze you with their beauty.
