In one day, you will visit three wonderful places that will complement your understanding of the heritage and beauty of the Balkan country. Our program includes amazing nature and landmarks of the national park, significant European events, as well as ancient winemaking traditions and a stroll through one of the most beautiful cities of Serbia.
What to Expect
Fruska Gora National Park
Morning departure from Belgrade to the autonomous region of Vojvodina, where you will first visit Fruska Gora. At the foot of the hill, you will see orchards and vineyards, fields and pastures, while at the top there are dense broad-leaved forests. In spring, you will observe beekeeping and taste local honey. I will explain the reasons for such rich nature, tell you about popular attractions, sports events, and healing trails. You will also be introduced to the monuments that earned the mountain the nickname 'Holy': learn about the 16 preserved ancient monasteries from the 15-17th centuries and visit one of the monastic complexes.
Sremski Karlovci: History, Architecture, and Winemaking
In this small town, you will discover unexpected facts about events that shaped Europe's relationship with the Ottoman Empire. Explore historical landmarks such as the Church of St. Peter and Paul, the Patriarch's Palace, the spiritual seminary, and the Cathedral of St. Nicholas. Hear about the 'Black Baron' Wrangel who lived and worked in the city. Additionally, uncover the winemaking history of Sremski Karlovci by visiting one of the ancient wine cellars and tasting wine with honey (optional).
Novi Sad - the Jewel of Vojvodina
The journey ends on the Danube River in the administrative center of Vojvodina. Take a leisurely walk through the cozy streets of the city and Danube Park, explore the history of Novi Sad's main attraction - the Baroque fortress of Petrovaradin, also known as the Gibraltar of the Danube. Admire the dominant Catholic Cathedral of Virgin Mary, the City Hall, and the Vojvodina Hotel, which form a beautiful ensemble on Freedom Square.
