About this experience
In Yerevan, there are almost no corners of the Old City left - the central part of the capital was rebuilt during Soviet times or already under the independent republic. Kond is located in the heart of Yerevan but is separated from the main part by hidden passages away from prying eyes. Here, you will enter into a different civilization, have tea with local residents, and visit a former Persian mosque.
What to expect
A different Yerevan
Kond is the most mysterious and unusual district of the city. You will find out why until recently very few tourists visited it, and even the Yerevan locals preferred not to mention its existence. You will explore winding rocky streets, small houses overhanging each other with asymmetrical walls, and colorful courtyards where several families live side by side.
Tea in an old house and more
You will visit the Church of Saint John, get acquainted with the monument of Armenian architecture - Khachkar - and peek into the former Persian mosque. You will discover what vernacular architecture is and how to use everything at hand in construction. Enjoy the view of evening Yerevan and be a guest of a local resident, where pleasant conversations await you over a cup of coffee or tea with Armenian sweets.
